Hey everyone!
It's been a while since I've written a group journal. I hope you're all well!
With the change recently to deviantArt's notification system, despite all its flaws, there is a bright spot. Group admins get group notifications to their own inboxes again! I don't check my inbox everyday, but this does mean it's easier to approve submissions once again, and as such, I thought it was time to make a few changes. Nothing bad I promise!
First of all, there was a rule before stating that all art submitted had to be 100% yours. I've ditched this rule as I know a lot of people struggle, and rely on line art and bases. Or, sometimes people just use those for fun! And all of that is okay! So I've added a folder, Made with Line Art and Bases, for just such occasions! This folder is for any, and ALL, works you create using premade line art or bases, even if those submissions would fit into another folder (such as fan art), they belong here instead! You can also submit line art or bases you've made here.
Secondly, I've once again ditched the "no humans/humanoids" rule. It seems unnecessarily restrictive. To account for this, I've added the Fantastical Humanoids folder, as well. This folder is for humans, elves, etc. in fantasy situations. What do I mean by that? Well, human art, or very human looking creatures, such as elves, dwarves, etc. is allowed as long as the setting or other creatures around are fantastical in some way. Meaning a drawing of a human standing on a street by a car is not allowed, but if there were a magical or fantasy element to that same drawing, ie. a dragon overhead, or some terrifying monster, or an elf down the street, then it would be accepted. Elves, dwarves, hobbits, etc. are fantasy creatures by default, but regular humans in a mundane setting just don't work for this group. I will also allow sci-fi humanoids in the Sci-Fi and Alien Creatures folder.
For the sake of organization, fantastical humanoids will always go in their new folder, even if they'd fit in Fanart. For example, if you drew Gimli from the Lord of the Rings, or a character from Elder Scrolls or etc it would fit here. However, Khajiit and Argonian characters (or similar) can go in this folder or the Anthros folder.
I hope that's clear! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to comment on this journal, or contact @Prince-Askari!
That's all for now!
